Subject: Nylah’s special ingredients and what makes us different?

Dear [Customer],

It's time to wave goodbye to sulphates, silicones and all other toxins. Many giants in the industry have recently come under fire for including harmful chemicals and hair relaxers in products being sold to black women - read here. Here at Nylah Naturals we pride ourselves in being open and transparent with how our products are made and what is put in them. No lies, no secrets, no hidden agendas, just Nylah's natural ingredients.

Our hair care range has been made with specially selected ingredients based on their ability to protect, repair, strengthen and deeply nourish your hair. Here are some of the ingredients we use and why:

1. Natural ingredients such as essential oils, and plant-based proteins are gentle on your hair and scalp, reducing the risk of irritation and sensitivity often associated with synthetic chemicals. Our strength and shine shampoo are packed with powerful actives such as Pea Protein and Jojoba Oil, working together to simultaneously cleanse your hair and replenish its moisture without stripping your hair like synthetic chemicals usually would.

2. Our moisture retention leaves in cream are filled with natural ingredients like shea butter and aloe vera. They are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids that deeply hydrate and nourish your hair, promoting softness, shine, and manageability. Leaving your locks defined, bouncy and most importantly healthy.

3. Botanical extracts, which are ingredients derived from plants, are especially good for the hair because they have a natural source. This means unlike sulphates and silicones they will not strip moisture from your hair or cause any chemical damage. The Super Botanicals Conditioner is loaded with … you guessed it - botanical extracts! Allowing it to restore moisture, hydrate the hair and revive shine to each individual hair strand.

We have intentionally prohibited over 1500 harmful ingredients that are commonly found in other hair care products including parabens, petrochemicals and synthetic dyes to ensure the safety of our products, here’s why:

1. Parabens are used as preservatives in many beauty products, however there is evidence to suggest a prolonged exposure to the substance can lead to hormone disruptive activities and skin irritation. There are also many studies to suggest parabens are carcinogenic (cancer causing).

2. Petrochemicals, when included in hair care formulations, can inhibit water absorption. This can lead to a reduced ability to retain moisture causing dryness and brittleness making your hair more prone to breakage and split ends.

3. Synthetic dyes are used as artificial colouring in beauty products however they are known to have toxins that can increase your risk of thyroid tumours, allergic reactions and even kidney tumours, despite all these risks not many restrictions have been placed on the type of dyes that can be used in personal care products. BeautyByEarth takes a closer look at products that are evidently dangerous but have not been banned - read here.

We're passionate about creating hair products that not only deliver exceptional results but also prioritize the health and well-being of your hair. We have made sure that all our products are safe in accordance with the Environmental Working Group (EWG) with the majority of our raw materials scoring the lowest hazard rating.

If you are ever concerned about what exactly it is, you are putting into your hair, rest and assure that all Nylah products are safe. You can double check them for yourself on our website under the ingredient list for every product.

Here’s to honesty and transparency!

Subject: Discover the Optimal Way to Wash Your Afro Hair with Nylah's Strength and Shine Shampoo!

Dear [Customer],

Are you tired of the myths and misconceptions surrounding how to properly care for your afro hair? You're not alone! For generations, the black community has been bombarded with conflicting advice on how often to cleanse our hair. Let's debunk these myths and discover the optimal way to wash your beautiful afro hair.

Contrary to popular belief, infrequent washing does not support hair growth. In fact, maintaining a clean scalp is crucial for healthy hair growth. Here's why:

 1. Combatting Congestion: Your scalp harbors a natural fungus called Malassezia (this is perfectly natural), which feeds on dead skin cells and excretes substances like urine and waste. However, Failure to cleanse your hair regularly can lead to overgrowth and excessive breading of Malassezia, resulting in scalp reactions such as dandruff.

 2. Preventing Follicular Miniaturization: Congested pores can lead to the thinning and weakening of hair strands, making them more prone to breakage and hindering length retention.

 3. Balancing Sebum Production: Infrequent washing causes a buildup of oil and grease on the scalp, disrupting the natural sebum production. This can lead to a dry, irritated, and flaky scalp.

 4. Promoting Skin Cell Turnover: Regular washing aids in the turnover of skin cells on the scalp, preventing the buildup that can clog pores and lead to congestion.

To maintain a healthy scalp environment, we recommend washing your hair at least every 10 days, even when wearing protective hairstyles. We understand that washing your hair in protective styles can be challenging, so here are our top 3 tips:

 1. Dilute Your Shampoo: Make it easier for the product to spread throughout your hair by diluting your shampoo.

 2. Use a Flannel: Especially useful for braids or intricate styles, a flannel can help cleanse the scalp effectively.

 3. Opt for Direct Access: Use a nozzle attachment to ensure thorough cleansing of the scalp.

Why use Nylah's Strength and Shine Shampoo for your wash day routine?

Our products are formulated with care and precision, Nylah's Strength and Shine Shampoo is more than just a cleanser—it's a game-changer for your hair care journey. Here's why our shampoo stands out from the rest:

 1. pH Balanced: Our shampoo is meticulously pH matched to the natural pH of your scalp, ensuring that your hair cuticles remain closed. This not only supports moisture retention but also reduces tangles and split ends, leaving your hair feeling silky smooth with every wash.

 2. Mild Surfactants: Say goodbye to harsh chemicals that strip your hair of its natural moisture! Our shampoo features gentle surfactants that cleanse effectively without compromising your hair's hydration levels. Your locks will thank you for the extra TLC!

 3. Pea Protein Power: Infused with pea protein, our shampoo works wonders from the inside out. This powerhouse ingredient strengthens your hair strands, enhancing manageability, elasticity, and, of course, shine. Experience the difference with every lather!

But that's not all—Nylah's Strength and Shine Shampoo goes beyond cleansing. It's designed to create a healthy scalp environment that fosters optimal hair growth. With every wash, you're not just cleansing your hair—you're nurturing it from root to tip.

Here's to embracing your natural beauty!
